Obituary for Margaret M. "Marge" Fisher

Margaret M. “Marge” Fisher, 61 of Oglesby died at 3:30 a.m. July 12, 2019 in Illinois Valley Comm. Hospital, Peru following an extended illness.

A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Church, Oglesby. The very Rev. Gary Blake will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, LaSalle.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday in the Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.

Marge was born September 27, 1957 in Peru to Martin and Frances (Welgatt) Jaraczewski. She married Robert Fisher August 28, 1981 in St. Patrick’s Church, LaSalle.

Marge worked as the manager of the Galley Restaurant at Bergner’s for 19 years and later as the dock manager at Bergner’s for a total of 37 years with the company.

She was a member of Holy Family Church. She was involved in local car shows raising nearly $100,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She was also involved with fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through Bergner’s.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Oglesby, 2 brothers; Kenneth (Joy) Jaraczewski of Mark and William (Kim) Jaraczewski of Peru, niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Joseph August 17, 1987 and Robert, Jr. February 23, 1999, 3 brothers and a sister all in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
