Hank hired hundreds of Oglesby kids over the years. He taught us about good food and good service. Outside of the stand he taught some of us how to drive a stick shift or play Euchre. He knew more about our lives than our parents did. He really loved talking to customers and staff. He never let me forget about a letter I sent to Larry Lujack on WLS radio. Larry read it on the air. I told him I had the record for washing the most root beer mugs during my tenure at the stand. Larry said they had to be clean and sanitary. Hank made sure they were. We will miss him.

Hi. I will miss seeing him at the root beer stand when I come to town on vacation. When I was 16 he gave me my first summer job.. He was the best boss ever. i will miss our little talks. Sorry for your loss. I will always remember him. Frank
